2 Day Rwanda Gorilla Trek and A visit to the Genocide Memorial.
Volcanoes National Park, also known as Parc Nationale des Volcans is the only park in Rwanda that is home to the Magical mountain gorillas, and it provides tourists from all over the world with a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet these endangered gentle giants. Visitors are only allowed to spend a maximum of one hour with the Mountain gorillas in the park. This 2 Day Rwanda Gorilla Trek is a short gorilla safari that is well customized for tourists who would want to have only a gorilla trekking experience in Rwanda in the shortest time possible but not as much exhausting as the 1 Day Gorilla Tour.
Volcanoes National Park is approximately a 2 hours and 20 minute drive from Kigali via the fastest route. This gorilla safari is for those tourists who are already in Rwanda for either a conference or any other ceremony, particularly in Kigali, or for those who are arriving at the airport early in the morning on the first day and departing late in the evening on the second day.
Day 1: Visit the Genocide Memorial while proceeding on a city tour and Transfer to volcanoes National park.
You will be collected up from your hotel or at the airport in the morning and you will be taken on a city tour of Kigali city the capital of Rwanda, during which you will visit the local market and the Genocide Memorial Centre. After lunch, you’ll get a better appreciation for why Rwanda is called the “Land of a Thousand Hills” as you make your way to Ruhengeri through the country’s agricultural hub. About half of the world’s remaining Mountain Gorillas can be found in Volcanoes National Park, which can be accessed from Ruhengeri’s city Musanze. After you arrive in Musanze you will check in your lodge for dinner and an overnight.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park and Transfer back to Kigali.
You will have breakfast at your lodge early in the morning and then prepare for a gorilla trekking day in the park by gathering your supplies like water, a jacket, a camera, and obviously your packed lunch. At 7am early in the morning your driver will drive you to report at the park headquarters to register and get briefed on the national park’s several gorilla clans and the trekking rules. As your being brief your guide will help you to choose the gorilla family appropriate for you. After briefing with your trekking guide the driver will take you to a short drive to the forest trailhead. You will take in the sights and sounds of the rainforest on your walk to see the gorillas. Once you have spent your regular 1 hour among the gorillas, you will walk out of the park and be met by your driver, who will take you back to Kigali.
