Detailed Itinerary of exclusive 7 days Uganda and Rwanda primate safari.
Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
You will be picked by an experienced driver guide at Entebbe International Airport and transferred to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park via the Kampala-Mbarara-Kabale –Bwindi road. The journey shall take 8-10 hours with lunch served en-route. Along the way you will discover the wonders of Uganda like the winding roads from Ntungamo with beautiful scenic views also you will have a quick glance at Lake Mburo National Park. On arrival, you will check in at Gorilla leisure lodge or Ichumbi gorilla lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Gorilla habituation and Batwa community experience.
Wake up for an early morning breakfast and then head the headquarters in Rushaga for briefing about the dos and don’ts when doing gorilla habituation. The gorilla habituation will start by 8:00 am and you will spend at least 4 hours with the mountain gorillas when you come across them, you will watch the wild mountain gorillas as they become accustomed to human presence. Watching the mountain gorillas having social interactions, rest, feed learning about their foraging habits is the best experience during the gorilla habituation. Mountain gorillas are considered to be the closest relatives of human beings since they share 98% of their DNA with that of human beings. Along the gorilla habituation experience you will come across other primate species like the black and white colobus monkeys, red tailed monkey, you will also come across other animals like bush pigs and forest elephants, bird species and butterfly species. After the activity, you will head back to the lodge for lunch, rest and then head to Batwa community for the Batwa experience. On this amazing experience, you will experience their ancient way of life like how they do gathering, hunting and also witness their traditional music and dance performances. After this experience head back to the lodge for dinner and over overnight stay.

Day 3: Gorilla trekking and transfer to Volcanoes national park.
Wake up for an early morning breakfast and then head the headquarters in Rushaga for briefing about the dos and don’ts when doing gorilla trekking. The gorilla trekking activity will start by 8:00 am and you will spend 1 hour with the mountain gorillas when you come across them, you will watch the mountain gorillas having social interactions like taking care of young ones, protecting the families, and you will also watch them feed. Along the gorilla trekking experience you will come across other primate species like the black and white colobus monkeys, red tailed monkey, you will also come across other animals like bush pigs and forest elephants, bird species and butterfly species. After the trek you will head back to the lodge for lunch and then transfer to Volcanoes national park via the Cyanika border, check in at the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Golden monkey trekking and visiting the Ellen DeGeneres campus of the Dian Fossey fund.
Wake up for early morning breakfast and then transfer to Volcanoes national park headquarters in Kinigi for briefing by 7:30am about the dos and don’ts when doing golden monkey trekking by 8:00 am, you will head for golden monkey trekking led by a park ranger and spend 1 hour when you come across the troop these magnificent features. Lively behaviors like leaping through trees, feeding are what you will experience. On the golden monkey trek you might meet some animals like the duikers, bush pigs, and bird species. The golden monkey trails are short and by 11 am it can be done. Return to the lodge for lunch, rest and then visit the Ellen DeGeneres campus of the Dian Fossey fund, it serves as a hub for gorilla conservation which combines research and public education. You will get to learn about the gorilla behaviors and how they live through the interactive museum and exhibits, virtual reality and 360 degrees immersive theatre. Head back to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: Gorilla trekking.
Wake up for early morning breakfast and then transfer to Volcanoes national park headquarters in Kinigi for briefing by 7:30am about the dos and don’ts when doing gorilla trekking by 8:00 am, you will head for gorilla trekking led by a park ranger and spend 1 hour when you come across the mountain gorilla family you are trekking. Bouyant behaviors trees, feeding are what you will experience. On the mountain gorilla trek you might meet some animals like the duikers, bush pigs, and bird species. After the trek you will return to the lodge for lunch, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 6: Transfer to Kigali and a city tour in Kigali.
Have an early morning breakfast after waking up. Then transfer to Kigali that is 2-4 hours journey and along the way expect to the route winds through rolling hills, farmlands, and villages, providing scenic, often undulating, and picturesque views. Arrive at Kigali, check in a hotel, then have visit to the Kigali genocide memorial grounds return for overnight stay.
