Day1: Kigali City tour.
Our competent driver guide will pick you up from the international airport in Kigali. During your city tour, you will visit the Kimironko market, which offers a range of goods made from local materials including wood, stones, and kitenge that you can take home.
You will next take a city tour to the Kigali massacre Memorial, which is an emotional tribute of the 1994 Tutsi slaughter. The Kigali Genocide Memorial in Kigali honors more than 250,000 victims of the Tutsi Genocide. Survivors occasionally visit this location in order to spend time with their deceased family members. After a hearty breakfast, you will be driven to the Volcanoes Park headquarters in Kinigi. The dos and don’ts of gorilla trekking will be explained to you by 7:30 during briefing. You will embark on hours-long gorilla walk at 8:00 am under the guidance of a park ranger. The mountain gorilla family you are trekking with shares 98% of human DNA and you will spend one hour when you come across them as you may capture pictures while you watch them feed, interact with one another, and defend their families. You may encounter bush pigs, duikers, and several bird species throughout the mountain gorilla hike. Following the hike, you will return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation before visiting the Iby’icawu cultural village for an immersive cultural experience. There, you will see performers dance for you, you will discover about their way of life, and purchase mementos to take home. You will return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay following this excursion.

Day 4: Golden monkey trekking and transfer to Nyungwe National park.
Get up early for breakfast, depart from the accommodation, and go to the Volcanoes National Park headquarters in Kinigi. You will be briefed on the dos and don’ts of gorilla trekking by 7:30 a.m. You will travel on a golden monkey trail with a park ranger around 8:00 am to the selected golden monkey group, where you will spend an hour with the troop when you come across them. During this period, you can snap pictures of the golden monkeys, but stay away from flash-light-equipped cameras and you will see their energetic habits as they hop from tree to tree to feed and mingle. You may encounter duikers, bush pigs, and several bird species while on the Golden Monkey Trek. Following the hike, you will eat lunch in Ruhengeri before traveling for around five to six hours to Nyungwe National Park. When you arrive, check into the lodge for dinner and the night.

Day 5: Chimpanzee trekking and transfer back to Kigali
You will be going chimpanzee trekking early in the morning after breakfast. To learn the dos and don’ts of chimpanzee trekking, go to the Uwinka visitor’s center. At 5:30 a.m., the chimpanzee trekking activity begins as you witness the chimpanzees emerge from their nests and go about their daily lives. You will eat lunch on your way back to Rwanda. After that, you’ll go to Kigali International Airport to catch your flights.
